Match reports, in order, are below.

28th August 2010 BRIXHAM 29 WESTON 33
The season's opener at Astley Park brought old friends down from Weston super Mare and provided entertaining and end-to-end rugby in excellent conditions. Brixham were in front for most of the game and can be happy with their performance; Weston won, so they too can be happy.
Brixham opened the scoring in the fourth minute via the boot of Ben Lovell - a lead that lasted only two minutes before Weston slotted an equalising penalty. An attack started deep in their own half by Kyle Browne was completed, after slick passing by the Brixham players, when centre Callum Macrae scored his first try for Brixham. Lovell added the conversion. Weston struck back with a second penalty and enjoyed a period of pressurising the home defence though to little avail.
With Brixham looking to counter-attack whenever they could Kyle Browne again made headway running from inside his half, Corey Moore continued the move and Martin Browne completed it with a try. Lovell converted and with half-time looming Brixham had a 17-6 lead. It did not last. A penalty gained Weston a lineout close to the Brixham line and a well-worked move secured a try.
Brixham turned around six points ahead - reduced to just one point a minute into the second period when Weston turned over ball at a Brixham lineout and ran through.
Stunned, but not disheartened, Brixham restored their advantage just four minutes later when their handling skills were combined again to enable centre Tom MacLean to touch downin the corner. Lovell again added the extras from the touchline.
Weston returned to the attack but the Brixham defence held firm. A scrum in front of the posts should have enabled Brixham to clear their lines. They opted to run the ball out but an intercepted pass gifted Weston a try and the Brixham lead was back to just three points.
Just two minutes later it was back to eight when Matt Dempsey streaked down the right wing for a try. Thirty minutes remained and both teams used the opportunity to try out their replacements. In that time Brixham failed to add to their score and Weston overhauled them with two tries, one converted. A late Brixham attack just failed to gain the try needed for victory but both teams learnt valuable lessons ahead of their League campaigns which start next Saturday.

4th September 2010 WALCOT 8 BRIXHAM 41
The result of this game has been reported as a 48-8 victory for Brixham.
It took 35 minutes of rugby for the players of both teams to get the cobwebs out of the system and understand exactly what the referee wanted.
Brixham opened the scoring with a penalty from outside-half Ben Lovell when Walcot were trapped offside in front of their posts. Unfortunately, from the resulting kick off Brixham were penalised for offside which allowed Walcot No 10 Chris Spreadbury (son of famous father World Cup Referee Tony Spreadbury) who was returning to Walcot after 3 years with Preston Grasshoppers to kick the goal for Walcot to draw level at 3-3
Brixham upped the pace, winning a Walcot line out 10 meters out and drove hooker Dean Avery over to score the first of three tries. Lovell kicked the goal and Brixham were in the lead again. 10-3 to Brixham - which was the halftime score.
Within minutes of the second half starting slack Brixham clearing allowed Walcot the chance to drive flanker Neil Meade over for a try and reduce the Brixham lead.
With Dan Parkes and Matt Dempsey now on Brixham improved their direction and started to apply pressure. From a line out the Brixham pack again drove Avery over for his second try. Lovell again converted.
Midway through the second period and the Brixham pressure was beginning to tell. Another line out close to the Walcot line enabled the Fishermen to drive Avery over for his third try.
Five minutes later, another line out resulted in No 8 Martin Browne going over to make it 27-8.
With time running out it was now the backs' turn and they started to find the gaps. Kyle Browne playing on the wing crossed for Brixham's fifth try which Lovell converted.
The last handling movement showed real pace from which young centre Tom McLean crossed under the posts for a try to give Lovell his fourth goal.
Dan Parkes was very satisfied with the line out and scrummage but not so with the many handling errors in the early part of the match.

11th September 2010 BRIXHAM 22 AVONMOUTH OB 11
Brixham secured the win against Avonmouth on Saturday but had to come from behind after something of a nightmare in the opening quarter,
Three penalties in quick succession in the opening minutes put Brixham behind when the visitors converted the third into three points. Five minutes later and another penalty goal doubled the deficit. Playing against the wind and the slope Brixham failed to get out of their own half. Conceding penalties did not help and more pressure from Avonmouth resulted in the opening try when their pack drove over from 10 metres out.
Fifteen minutes on the clock and eleven points adrift was not the start Brixham had planned and they needed to get their act together to avoid defeat.
Cutting out the errors, Brixham got back into the game and ten minutes before the break Brixham got onto the scoreboard. The classic combination of penalty, 5 metre lineout, catch and drive resulted in hooker Dean Avery grounding the ball for a try.
Ben Lovell missed the conversion but before half-time had slotted a penalty to reduce the deficit further. A flowing move in the last minute could have resulted in Brixham turning around ahead but it broke down just metres from the Avonmouth line.
In the second half Brixham began to dominate territorially but could not break the visitors' defence until midway through the half. A repeat of the classic combo and Avery had his second try. Lovell added the extras and Brixham were in front.
Eight minutes later and the forwards again drove over the line - flanker Bryan Crichton might have got the try; Lovell certainly got the conversion.
With Brixham now well on top the fourth try that would have secured a bonus point eluded them. Flanker Sam Thomas and No 8 Martin Browne both had touchdowns disallowed in the closing minutes.

18th September 2010 CAMBORNE 13 BRIXHAM 37
In delightful conditions for rugby football Camborne kicked off towards the Clubhouse end.
Brixham were penalised before they touched the ball and a kick to the corner below the Camborne bank. Camborne won the line out and drove for the Brixham line to allow their hooker to touch down for the first points of the game. The conversion put Camborne 7 pts up within two minutes for a dream start.
Immediately from the kick off Camborne were caught offside and Ben Lovell kicked the goal to reduce the deficit.
Brixham upped the pace to put full back Matthew Dempsey clear for Lovell to convert to take the lead but when Brixham were penalised for not releasing Camborne had no difficulty with the kick to bring the scores level.
With 15 minutes of the half remaining a break down the middle by centre Callum Macrae put flanker Dylan Flashman away to score a try near the posts converted by Lovell. Brixham could not hold the lead till the break for with just seconds to go Flashman was sinbinned allowing the hosts to reduce the arrears. From the restart Camborne were penalised some 45 meters out and Lovell landed a long range effort to make it 13 -20 at the break.

Almost from the restart Brixham No 8 Martin Browne latched on to a fortuitous bounce from a chip ahead by Lovell to score near the posts which Lovell converted take Brixham clear.
Brixham exerted great pressure on the Camborne line resulting in a series of penalties, culminating with Lovell kicking a goal from in front of the posts to bring the edge the Fishermen further ahead.
Lovell was replaced by Richard Champion making his First XV debut but Brixham lifted the pedal off the game to allow Camborne to exert pressure on the Brixham line. Brixham had the last word when Brixham put the ball out to wing Tom Goodman who streaked down the right wing to score in the corner. Champion converted to make the final score 13-37. The fourth try earned a bonus point for Brixham who remain in third place in the league.

25th Sept 2010 CHOSEN HILL 16 BRIXHAM 6
Brixham didn't get off the bus and eventually, when they did, they got back on it early...
Brixham lost the toss and kicked off down hill. Chosen Hill drifted offside in the first minute and outside-half Ben Lovell kicked a penalty from 45 meters for Brixham to go 3.0 up
For the first 30minutes Brixham exerted continuous pressure on the Chosen Hill. Time and time again they got into good scoring positions only to be penalised and allow Chosen Hill off the hook.
In the 30th minute and against the run of play Chosen Hill got into the Brixham 22 and were awarded a penalty which was missed from in front of the Brixham posts. This relief was short lived as Brixham were again penalised from the kick off which saw Chosen Hill kick the goal to draw level 3-3; which was the half time score.
Brixham now faced the elements of the slope and wind. Brixham's Bryan Crichton was yellow carded and Chosen Hill kicked a second penalty to put them in the front. Chosen Hill were having their best period and put Brixham under pressure. Alun Glanvill replaced Bryan Crichton but in the next maul skipper Dean Avery was sin binned for pulling down. From the penalty Chosen kicked their third goal. Brixham forced themselves back up the hill and were awarded a penalty from
in front of the posts when Chosen Hill killed the ball.
Brixham were under increased pressure as Alun Glanvill moved up to hooker. Chosen Hill went for the pushover try which No 7 Tom Gyde was credited with making it 16-6 with 15 minutes to go. Brixham exerted the pressure and camped out in the Chosen Hill 22. The homesters penalty count rose but each time Brixham went for the catch and drive were also penalised and could not breach the try-line.

2nd October 2010 BRIXHAM 52 CLEVEDON 15
Brixham remain in third place in the League after a much-improved display against Clevedon. From the outset Brixham showed their intention to attack and in the first minute of the game were nearly rewarded when full-back Matt Dempsey raced up the wing - only to felled short of the line by a high tackle. From the resulting penalty and lineout Brixham attacked again and caught Clevedon offside. Ben Lovell slotted the penalty and the Fishermen had the lead. Clevedon levelled with a penalty before another Brixham attack down the left wing was stopped short. From the ruck the forwards drove over to give prop Jason Stead a touchdown. Lovell added the conversion and a second penalty goal to increase the lead.
By the midpoint of the first half it was extended. After attacking down the right a well-placed cross-kick by Lovell was caught at pace by Dempsey. For the second time he was brought down short of the line but Brixham secured quick ruck ball and Dempsey was on hand to score a deserved try in the corner.
With Brixham doing almost all the attacking the scoreboard kept ticking over. Lovell's third penalty was followed by an attack in which centre Tom McLean was brought down by a high tackle. Brixham got a penalty and the Clevedon No 8 got a red card and early shower. Minutes later McLean broke through the centre of the Clevedon defence for Brixham's third try and a 31-3 lead. With half-time imminent Brixham relaxed and allowed the visitors a converted try.
Clevedon started the second half as they had ended the first - by attacking. Three minutes in and they stretched the Brixham defence on the right to create space for their fullback to score a try.
That was the end of their comeback. Brixham had the best of the territory and possession for the remainder of the match. A lineout 10 metres out enabled the Brixham forwards to combine to drive over the line - Dean Avery claimed Brixham's fourth try which earned Brixham a bonus point. The fifth try was down to the pace of winger Tom Goodman whose solo effort left the visitors defence trailing in his wake. The sixth, and final try, was much more of a team effort with swift handling culminating in centre Kyle Browne touching down. Lovell converted all three.

9th October 2010 CULLOMPTON 20 BRIXHAM 24
Brixham made the short journey to Cullompton who were not having the best start to the season having lost four of their out of the five games. Meanwhile Brixham had to dig deep into the club's reserves due to injuries to skipper Dean Avery and former skipper Adam Thomas (who will be out till Christmas). With Steve Trust and Andy Knight at weddings, Bryan Crichton attending a business seminar and Alun Glanvill on holiday, Brixham introduced Val Chirita and Gareth Cadmore and brought up Mike Beeson, Luke Maggs, Mike Shears and Steve Worth and rejigged the pack.
Ominous signs were on the horizon as the Fishermen tried to contain a Cullompton pack who were up for it...In the 5th minute a speculative kick from Cullompton outside-half Pearce caused panic in the Brixham defence allowing centre Jemba Bull to go over near the posts - converted by Pearce
to go 7 up. Great pressure by the Cullompton pack forced Brixham into errors and on two minutes later Cullompton went further ahead with a penalty from Pearce.
Brixham now started to gain momentum and pressure from Brixham saw Cullompton give away a penalty (and a yellow card to their scrum-half). Ben Lovell kicked the goal to reduce the deficit. Brixham, with plenty of time to spare, attempted to run a ball out of defence and were caught in possession and quick hands from the Cullompton backs put Pearce clear to score under the posts which he converted to make it 17-6. With half time beckoning Brixham were penalised in the Cullompton half near the 10 meter line. Pearce kicked an excellent goal which bounced off the cross bar and over to give Cullompton a half time lead of 20-6.
Brixham were looking at a mountain to climb. Good line kicking from Lovell put Brixham into the Cullompton 22 where they launched a catch and drive and drove prop Matthew Skeet over to score in the corner to make it 20-11. Brixham were now having the best of the skirmish and making Cullompton make the mistakes which Lovell punished to reduce the margin 20-14.
Cullompton then had their best period of the second half and denied Brixham the ball with some pick up and drives. The Brixham defence held firm but were lucky on two occasions when the referee held his hand out for penalties but judged that Cullompton had lost the advantage due to errors on their part.
Brixham forced them back down the pitch and from a catch and drive drove flanker Sam Thomas over to make 20-19. Lovell's conversion from the touchline put Brixham ahead for the first time. With time running out Michael Shears replaced Mike Beeson and in the next scrum Brixham won one against the head. Cullompton came offside and from in front of the posts Lovell had no problem in kicking the goal to extend the lead to 20-24.
With the seconds ticking away Brixham were in no mood to allow Cullompton any chance of a comeback.

16th October 2010 BRIXHAM 57 IVYBRIDGE 3
Eight tries earned Brixham an emphatic win which lifts them into second position in the League. The Fishermen started off apparently determined to run Ivybridge off the field and within two minutes took the lead when Matt Dempsey crossed in the corner for the opening try.
Five minutes later and the lead was extended. A short-range penalty resulted in cleanly won lineout ball and Tom Goodman, coming off his wing, burst through for a try under the posts. Ben Lovell got the easy extras.
Ivybridge struggled to get past the halfway line as Brixham dominated the first half. Lovell was denied a try midway through the period when he was held up over the line; Brixham won the 5metre scrum and spun the ball out. McLean was denied a try in the corner by a marginally forward pass.
A rare foray into Brixham territory got the visitors onto the scoreboard with a penalty goal - almost immediately Brixham, through Lovell, replied in kind. The halftime lead of 15-3 could, and should, have been more.
In the second period the Fishermen were in less of a hurry to get scores on the board and as a result the errors were fewer. In the opening ten minutes the lead was more than doubled; first by the pack combining to drive hooker Mike Beeson over for a try and then by Dempsey crossing in the corner. Lovell converted both. The important bonus point had been secured and Brixham relaxed slightly. Ivybridge enjoyed ten minutes of testing Brixham's defences, but to no avail, before Brixham turned the pressure up.
Lock Andy Knight was the third Brixham player to be denied a try when he was adjudged held up over the line but from the scrum No 8 Martin Browne crashed through to score under the posts. Lovell added the conversion and five minutes later converted his own try after he followed the same route through the centre of the defence.
Scrum-half Corey Moore finished off a move started in the Brixham half for the seventh try Goodman's pace took him around the Ivybridge defence for the eighth. Lovell's conversions took his points tally past 100 for the season.
Next week Brixham have the shortest of away trips - to Queens Park in Paignton - for what promises to be an entertaining local derby.

23rd October 2010 PAIGNTON 17 BRIXHAM 38
The first half was noteworthy for the number of penalty goal attempts. Paignton took an early three point lead when Brixham were penalised at the first scrum and then caught offside from the tapped restart. Brixham then equalised through the boot of Ben Lovell before another offside gave Paignton the lead back. Brixham then took the lead they were never to give up after a forward drive from a short-range lineout. Martin Browne touching down for the first try under a pile of bodies. A typical run from Browne off the back of a scrum, Paignton offside in defence and Lovell had a second penalty goal to his tally. Paignton reduced the arrears with their third. A quarter of the match played and neither side on top.
The second quarter continued to be tit-for-tat. Lovell was successful with his two penalty attempts; Paignton failed with both of theirs. The dying seconds of the half saw another strong run from Browne. Brought down close to the try-line he had cetre Callum Macrae in support to score the try. Lovell added the extras from the touchline.
Playing into the wind and gathering shower-clouds the Fishermen had probably been looking to turn around on level terms and use the elements in the second period. Instead they found themselves 24-9 ahead.
Two minutes in and the lead was increased. A lineout, catch and drive brought Brixham their third try. Lovell's conversion was unusual. The ball fell over on his approach but with quick thinking he picked it up and drop-kicked instead.
Paignton responded with a penalty soon afterwards and sloppy tackling from Brixham was penalised by a try. Paignton began to play with more passion and belief that they could come back. With their lineout ploys not working well and compounded by handling errors Brixham were forced onto the defensive.
Paignton huffed and puffed but found no way through; Brixham got their act together and began to threaten the Cherries' line. Twice they came close to scoring before Goodman recovered a clearance kick and ran back at, and through, the defence for the try which earned Brixham a bonus point. Lovell added the conversion and the game was over as a contest.

30th October 2010 BRIXHAM 34 SIDMOUTH 14
Brixham took the spoils on Saturday in their League match against a lively and committed Sidmouth side. Both sides will know what they need to do when they meet again next week in their Devon Senior Cup tie.
Honours were even in the opening exchanges but the visitors took the lead on ten minutes with a dropped goal. Brixham's immediate riposte was to put pressure on the Sidmouth line and were soon on level terms through a Ben Lovell penalty. From the restart they were straight back in attack mode. A chip over the Sidmouth defence by scrum-half Cory Moore was collected by centre Tom McLean. His strong run was ended metres short but Moore was up in support to score the games opening try. Lovell added the extras.
Sidmouth were not going down without a fight. Two penalty goal attempts midway through the half brought some joy when the second went over but Brixham were beginning to get on top. Centre Callum Macrae came close to scoring a try and further pressure led to a disallowed try when the final pass to Martin Browne was deemed to have been forward. His brother Kyle, on the wing, was more successful. After the Brixham pack trundled a maul forward over 15 metres the ball went out along the backs to put him over in the corner.
Sidmouth reduced the arrears with a penalty but another attempt, the last kick of the half, went wide. Brixham led 15-9 but the result was far from settled.
Early in the second half the Brixham forwards again drove a maul a distance before Sidmouth pulled it down. Brixham opted for touch, secured the lineout and after the resulting maul Kyle Browne touched down again. Lovell's conversion appeared to be wide but came in on the wind to nudge the inside of the post and drop over.
With Sidmouth fully committed to their cause they continued to pose threats to the Fishermen and could still harbour thoughts of a win after their winger raced in for an unconverted try.
Pressure from Brixham midway through the half saw them threatening the Sidmouth line. McLean, for the second time, was brought down short before winger Tom Goodman touched down. Lovell's conversion again hit the post, but fell the wrong way.
With the forwards in the ascendancy Brixham kept Sidmouth penned back and scored a fifth try after a series of rucks and mauls near the visitors' line. Prop Matthew Skeet emerging with the ball to dance over under the posts. Lovell added the easy extras. Sidmouth enjoyed a period of pressure in the final minutes but could find no way through or around the Fishermen's defensive net.

6th November 2010 BRIXHAM 46 SIDMOUTH 11 (Devon Cup Q/F)
Brixham went through to the Devon Cup semi-finals with another emphatic victory over Sidmouth. After last week's game Sidmouth knew they needed to control the rolling mauls that Brixham had used. Brixham, with a new front row, never needed to deploy the tactic and it was the backs who did the damage running in six tries out of the seven scored.
Within ten minutes Brixham had the lead. Prop Dan Stead touched down after a classic lineout and drive. Outside-half Ben Lovell added the conversion. Playing down the slope Brixham were on top and two more tries followed midway through the half. A series of probing attacks sucked in the defenders to create a three man overlap and lots of space for centre Kyle Browne to touch down in the corner for the first. He was followed by full-back Jamie Shone who went over in the other corner after a series of attacking phases by the forwards had secured good yardage.
Sidmouth hit back with a penalty goal from Dan Retter before winger Matt Dempsey scored a try that was almost a carbon-copy of Shone's - except for the diving, one-handed finish.
A second Retter penalty maintained Sidmouth interest in the contest but Brixham were determined to finish them off. Scrum-half Cory Moore got desperately close to the try-line in the closing minutes before Lovell slooted the penalty that took Brixham to the break 27-6 ahead.
Brixham continued to dominate in the early exchanges of the second half but got little reward. A penalty kick from Lovell which bounced back off the woodwork was the only scoring chance until midway through the period. Brixham forced a 5m scrum and went blind for replacement winger Tom Goodman to go over for a try.
This served more to motivate the visitors than the Fishermen. Sidmouth took the game to Brixham and scored a well-worked try. More pressure failed to deliver any points. A deep kick out of defence found the Sidmouth full-back with no time or space and the attention of Brixham centre Tom McLean - who secured the ball and dived over in the corner. Lovell added the extras from a difficult angle
Sidmouth never gave up, but never made much progress either. With time running out a scrum in the Sidmouth half was the platform for the final score. Brixham stole the ball against the head; Dempsey, playing scrum-half, kicked through the defence and won the chase to score a try. Lovell's conversion was straightforward.

13th November 2010 ST IVES 12 BRIXHAM 46
The last time Brixham won at St Ives was in 1998; coming away with a 46-7 scoreline. On Saturday, 12 years on and despite the promises of St Ives coach Ian Morgan, the scoreline was almost the same - and the Hakes' biggest defeat of the season.
For the trip to west Cornwall Brixham were forced to make changes. Jason Stead and Val Chirita returned to the front row and in the absence of Matt Dempsey (away in Cork), Steve Worth (unavailable), Andy Knight, Bryan Crichton, Mike Beeson and Matthew Skeet (all sick, injured or recovering) Brixham brought Liam Boyd in for his first team league debut. Guy Marler was added to the squad and Alun Glanvill was again the hooker.
Meanwhile St Ives brought back some of their "old guard" to strengthen their side.
Despite dominating the early exchanges it took Brixham fifteen minutes to get the scoreboard moving. Centre Kyle Browne opened the scoring when space was created on the left for him to score a try. Brixham attacked from the restart and Callum Macrae, the other centre, finished the move by touching down on the right. Ben Lovell added the conversion.
To the delight of Brixham's travelling supporters the Fishermen were now on song. Flanker Sam Thomas claimed the third try, converted by Lovell, and on the stroke of half-time winger Tom Goodman was put clear for the fourth - Lovell's conversion gave Brixham a 26-0 lead at the break with the bonus point already in the bag.
Brixham extended the lead early in the second half after St Ives collapsed a scrum in front of their posts. Lovell slotted the resulting penalty. Worse was to come for St Ives. Winger Tom McLean went clear for a try, converted by Lovell, and the homesters had a mountain to climb.
Instead of trying to punch through the centre with their forwards, St Ives now changed their game plan. Moving the ball wide was rewarded when their fullback Kyle Moyle took the ball at pace and scored in the left corner. A second break down the left produced a second try. Centre John Morrison touched down, Ian Morgan added the conversion and the scoreline was 36-12.
Martin Browne, the Brixham No 8 and captain, decided that was enough charity. Brixham closed the game down with some hrd forward exchanges and extended the lead when Lovell slotted a penalty in front of the posts. With rain clouds gathering above Brixham upped the tempo. Quick hands put McLean away but when he was brought down short of the line he had Sam Thomas in support to score his second try; Lovell got his fifth conversion and the scoring was over.
Brixham did not concede a kickable penalty in the game which was excellently refereed by Treve Dustan of the Cornwall RRS.

20th November 2010 BRIXHAM 20 OLD REDCLIFFIANS 7
The Fishermen solidified their second place in the League on Saturday with a composed win against third-placed Old Redcliffians.
Brixham attacked from the outset but found a well organised and solid defence. An early opportunity to get ahead was lost when Ben Lovell's penalty went wide. Brixham found few chinks in the visitors' defensive armour despite almost continuous probing. A successful penalty from Lovell after fifteen minutes seemed scant reward for all their efforts. A second missed penalty midway through the half did nothing to bolster Brixham's confidence but their attacking was persistent.
A lineout close to the visitors' line brought the breakthrough when hooker Matt Skeet touched down after a catch and drive. Lovell added the touchline conversion. A rare Reds foray into Brixham territory gave them an opportunity to get on the scoreboard but a poor penalty kick ensued.
The Brixham response was almost immediate - a scrum 20 metres from the Reds line; No 8 Martin Browne peeled off with the ball and made the initial break, scrum-half Cory Moore was on hand to score the try. Lovell converted. He also slotted a penalty at the end of a first-half which Brixham had dominated. With a 20-0 lead at the break Brixham had a defensible lead.
Whatever the Old Reds coach said to his team in the interval clearly inspired them and Brixham found themselves defending for long periods. Pounded by the visiting forwards and threatened by their backs the defence held firm. No kickable penalties were conceded as Brixham stuck to their task - but Brixham were unable to create any scoring chances of their own.
With 15 minutes remaining the home defence was finally breached when the elusive running of the Old Reds centre took him through for a try and a straightforward conversion. Any hopes of winning, or even securing a losing bonus point, were dashed on the Brixham's defensive breakwater.

27th November 2010 CHIPPENHAM 9 BRIXHAM 6
The clash between the two leading sides in the League promised much but the weather gods deemed otherwise.
After a pitch inspection the referee offered Brixham the opportunity to call the game off. However, the thought of returning in February had little appeal and Brixham declined the offer.
Near blizzard conditions and a difficult cross wind did not make for a particularly entertaining game with five penalty goals the only scores.
Brixham fell behind when they were caught offside in front of their posts but play settled into a duel between the packs in the centre of the field. Ben Lovell missed two long distance chances before Chippenham extended their lead. The Brixham forwards began to dictate the direction of the game and Lovell slotted two goals before the break to draw the scores level.
The second period was much the same as the first - a dog-fight in the middle of the park. The scoreboard operator nearly froze with inaction. In injury time, with no floodlights, the darkness was descending. In the gloom the ref spotted a high tackle and Chippenham kicked a penalty. Time for spectators and players alike to desert the field for the comfort and warmth of the Clubhouse.

4th December 2010 BRIXHAM 17 WADEBRIDGE 8

Brixham completed the first half of the their League programme with a hard-won victory over Wadebridge. Brixham were forced to play the second half with 14 men after lock Dylan Flashman was sent off.
Brixham normally start games at high tempo but in the early exchanges of this match neither side made much headway. The first scoring chance fell to the visitors when Brixham were caught offside. The penalty kick was missed but led to a period of Wadebridge pressure on the Brixham line and, ultimately, another, easier, penalty.
Brixham's attacks were making little headway but the Fishermen eventually gained the lead. A 5 metre lineout and the normal catch and drive ended with hooker Alun Glanvill touching down for the opening try. Ben Lovell added the extras for a 7-3 lead. Almost immediately from the restart Wadebridge won a penalty but this went wide and Brixham took their lead to the interval.
Brixham started the second half with more passion than they had shown in the first and a series of attacks kept Wadebridge deep in their own half. Lovell slotted a penalty in the opening minutes and Brixham extended their lead after 12 minutes when, after a forwards drive had gained fifteen metres, the ball was released and centre Callum Macrae weaved through the visitors' defence and touched down between the sticks. Lovell added the extras.
Further Brixham pressure brought no reward and Wadebridge worked their way back into the game. Good ball retention enabled them to string together their attacking phases and Brixham were defending for virtually the whole of the final quarter. Ten minutes from time the Wadebridge pack drove over for a try but they could not add to this as the darkness and rain began to fall.

11th December 2010 AVONMOUTH OB v BRIXHAM - postponed

2nd January 2011 TORQUAY 16 BRIXHAM 21
Brixham retained the Brewer Cup in a match they dominated. Torquay made the tackles that mattered and with the Brixham handling somewhat rusty Brixham failed to convert their possession into points.
The Brixham 22 was a part of the field that might as well have been foreign territory for Torquay. They rarely visited it and seemed to lack the means to get there. Three times they came close to it in the first half and each time were rewarded with a penalty goal. By contrast Brixham were virtually camped near the Torquay line. They came close to scoring on several occasions but got only a single kick at goal. Ben Lovell converted and at the break Brixham trailed by 9 points to 3.

The opening minutes of the second half were spent in the middle of the pitch before Brixham began again to lay siege to the homesters line. Twelve minutes into the half winger Tom Goodman was brought down just short of the try line. Torquay were penalised at the breakdown and lock Andy Knight took a quick tap and barged over the line. Torquay missed a long-range penalty shortly afterwards but Brixham were very much on top. Midway though the half they took the lead after a rolling maul took the forwards 15 metres and over the try-line. Hooker Dean Avery, back from injury, claimed the try.
The forwards, and Avery, scored the third try from a classic lineout catch and drive. With all three conversions going astray Brixham led 18-9 going into the last ten minutes.

More attacking by the Fishermen but the ball was turned over and a Torquay breakaway breached the defence and resulted in a converted try. Brixham rounded off proceedings with a penalty from Lovell.

8th January 2011 BRIXHAM 22 CHOSEN HILL 3
Brixham were far from their best on Saturday and struggled at times to overcome a combative Gloucester side.
The first half was a dull affair of few scoring chances. Brixham had the edge territorially but the visitors' well-drilled defence and astute positional kicking kept the Fishermen out.
Brixham could have taken the lead in the first minute but Ben Lovell's long-range penalty attempt was just wide. The scoreboard operator had another moment of interest midway through the half - but the Chosen Hill penalty attempt rebounded from the upright. Five minutes later he was at work when Lovell slotted his second attempt to ease Brixham ahead but had nothing further to do before the interval as all Brixham's attacking ploys were in vain.
Brixham started the second half as they had finished the first - seeking to find gaps in the Chosen Hill defence. An attempt to go around, rather than through, them nearly went badly wrong when a long pass was intercepted by the Hill's scrum half whose long run to the tryline was only halted when Brixham winger Tom Goodman overhauled him and took him to ground. This breakaway ushered in a period of pressure by the visitors - terminated by a penalty goal to level the scores.
Brixham went back on the offensive and stretched the Chosen Hill defence on the right before passing the ball out along the backs for Matt Dempsey to score a try in the other corner.
Chosen Hill missed a penalty midway through the second period but never seriously threatened the Brixham line. With Brixham beginning to get on top the contest became a little fractious but the Fishermen finished it off in style with two tries. First lock Dylan Flashman broke through to score under the posts (and give a straightforward conversion for Dempsey) and the Goodman finished off a backs move with pace and touched down in a similar place. Andy Knight, keen to get play restarted quickly, took a drop-goal conversion but the final whistle followed immediately.

15th January 2011 CLEVEDON 17 BRIXHAM 19
With their main pitch flooded, Clevedon moved the match to a school field - a narrow pitch two miles from the clubhouse with an interesting slope and lacking in basic facilities. The sin bin and injuries forced Brixham into several reshuffles of the team as the match went on. The match will not be remembered for its great rugby and Brixham were happy to return with a win that they might not have had.
Brixham missed an early chance to go ahead but Lovell's penalty went wide and fell behind after 15 minutes to a Clevedon penalty. Ten minutes later Brixham took the lead, Quick ruck ball and swift passing put winger Tom Goodman away for a try, converted by Lovell.
When Brixham had two players sin-binned Clevedon threw everything at them to score but a penalty from Lovell extended the Fishermen's lead. Just before the break play was held up for five minutes when lock Dylan Flashman suffered a facial injury.
A second Lovell penalty increased the Brixham lead to 13-3 at the break.
A penalty try for Clevedon in the opening minutes of the second period narrowed the gap before Lovell slotted his third penalty. Another binning and an ankle injury for Lovell did not help the Brixham cause and Clevedon began to put them under pressure. An apparent knock-on in the build-up did not prevent the referee from awarding Clevedon a try which put them 17-16 ahead with full-time looming.
The pressure was on replacement Richard Champion when Brixham were awarded a penalty but from a difficult angle he duly slotted the uprights to put Brixham back ahead. In stoppage time Clevedon had an easier kick at goal to win the match but the chance was missed.

From the Clevedon website:
"Clevedon had Brixham on the ropes for long periods, but were kept at bay by Brixham's well organised defence. Clevedon had this match won ten minutes from time, but couldn't make it stick despite their commendable efforts.
We wish a speedy recovery to the two Brixham players who required hospital treatment after this match. Get well soon lads."

22nd January 2011 BRIXHAM 25 CULLOMPTON 28
This was a game the Fishermen will want to forget as soon as possible.
Brixham fell behind after just one minute - hands in a ruck costing them three points through a penalty. This opening was just a setback - Brixham pressed the Cullompton line and were rewarded with two penalties kicked by Ben Lovell that nudged them ahead. While the Cullompton backs looked dangerous it was their forwards that posed Brixham problems by dominating possession and what little ball Brixham got was kicked away. Two more penalty goals put Cullompton back in front by the half-hour mark.
In the space of three minutes the game changed complexion. Twice Cullompton ran the ball back at Brixham and found gaps and weak tackling. Both were rewarded by tries. At the end of the first half Brixham reduced the deficit when a forward drive after a lineout rumbled over for a try; scrumhalf Cory Moore in the midst of it claiming the try. Lovell converted to leave the score 13-21 at the break.
With Cullompton continuing to keep the ball in the second half Brixham's frustration increased and for twenty minutes they were down to 14 men thanks to the sin-bin. A third Cullompton try and conversion stretched their lead and left Brixham needing to score three times in the final 15 minutes to get anything out of the game.
A period of pressure by the pack and with the backs spinning the ball from one side to the other culminated in winger Tom Goodman going over in the corner for a try. From the restart Brixham were again pressing and three minutes later glimpsed a chance of victory when Sam Thomas powered his way though for a try under the posts. Five minutes remained but Brixham could not score again. Cullompton missed a long-range penalty goal but the Fishermen had left it too late.

29th January 2011 IVYBRIDGE 13 BRIXHAM 53
A nine-try demolition of struggling Ivybridge was just the tonic Brixham needed after the disappointment of last week. Brixham could have scored more but with a much changed team the opportunity to bring players back in after injury and try new combinations was welcome.
In the opening ten minutes the two sides were getting to grips with each other and traded penalty kicks - Ivybridge missed both of their opportunities as did Brixham. The stalemate was broken when Brixham elected to run the ball out of defence; quick recycling of the ball and three or four phases later Tom Goodman went over on the right.
Ivybridge narrowed the gap with their third penalty attempt; Brixham extended it after their forwards rumbled 25 metres or more and drove over the line - prop Matt Skeet claimed the try. A second Ivybridge penalty gave the homesters some hope but in the last ten minutes of the half (and injury time) Brixham put the game out of their reach.
Centre Tom MacLean finished off a multi-phase attacking spell with a try; hooker Dean Avery touched down after a classic catch and drive and No. 8 Martin Browne peeled off the back of a 5metre scrum to go over for Brixham's fifth try.
With Matt Dempsey sporting his running boots rather than his kicking ones, only one try was converted and Brixham led 27-6 at the break.
In the second period the Ivybridge defensive floodgates never quite opened and they were forced into desperate tackling, spoiling tactics and complaining. It took Brixham fifteen minutes to advance the scoreboard - a succession of 5metre lineouts culminating in another catch and drive try.
With Brixham running the ball at every opportunity a mistake was bound to happen and Ivybridge profited from one of them with a try that they had looked unlikely to score.
In the final quarter Brixham had their hosts under virtually constant pressure and three more tries resulted. After a 5metre scrum the Brixham pack drove over for the first - Tom Clark grounding the ball. The second came after a backs move down the wing when Goodman passed inside to find lock Luke Maggs up in support - his final pass left fellow lock Steve Trust little to do. The final try belonged to centre Callum Macrae who cut back inside to find a gap in the defence and a thirty metre run in under the posts. With Dempsey now used to the wrong boots he converted all three.

5th February 2011 BRIXHAM 33 PAIGNTON 3
Brixham secured the bonus-point victory on Saturday to maintain their promotion challenge; Paignton's defeat leaves them worryingly in one of the relegation spots. The strong wind and driving drizzle made conditions difficult and no doubt contributed to some of the handling errors.
Brixham had slightly the better of the opening exchanges but went behind midway though the first half when they were caught offside and conceded a penalty. With their forwards making the hard yards and solid tackling in defence, Brixham went ahead after a series of attacks when the ball was spun wide for full-back Matt Dempsey to go over in the corner.
Neither side could find a way through in the closing minutes of the first half - though Paignton came close and the interval came with the score 5-3 in Brixham's favour.
The start of the second half promised to be a tense one for the Fishermen. With two players sin-binned in close succession just before the break they started it with just 13 on the field.
Paignton were contained in their 22 from the kick-off; failed to clear their lines and within a minute were further behind when prop Jason Stead crashed over for a try converted by Ben Lovell. Paignton could make nothing of their numerical advantage and when Brixham were back to 15 found themselves under increasing pressure. Brixham went through the attacking phases and extended their lead when flanker Tom Clark found a good attacking angle and went over for a try. Richard Champion's conversion added extras.
In the final quarter the Paignton were keen to get something out of the match and probably had the balance of play - except for the fact that Brixham added, or rather stole, two tries. Centre Tom Maclean grabbed the first when he plucked a soft Paignton pass to run in under the posts from halfway. Fellow centre Callum Macrae picked off a similar pass when Paignton attempted to run the ball from defence with the same result. Champion had straightforward conversions.

12th February 2011 AVONMOUTH 10 BRIXHAM 36
BRIXHAM shot to the top of the table with this win up in Bristol - but they only went clear thanks to three tries in the dying minutes of the game. Victory sent Brixham to the top of the table ahead of long-time leaders Chippenham. There is only four points in it though and Chippenham do have two games in hand.
The Mouth are always rugged opponents and until the 78th minute there was only a try in it at 17-10. Brixham finished with more gas in the tank than Avonmouth - and more players on the field as home hooker Craig Britton was red-carded in stoppage time for dissent.

Brixham took the lead at Avonmouth with a Ben Lovell penalty after the home side put a hand in a ruck where it shouldn't have been.
Good hands put Callum McRae in near the woodowork for Lovell to add the conversion.
When Brixham hooker Dean Avery went into the sin-bin, Avonmouth's Andy Taylor took the three points on offer.
Right on half time home flanker Phil Dixon barged over and Taylor levelled it with the kick.

Eight minutes into the second half Brixham released Tom Goodman on the left and he ran over for Lovell to add the extras. Avonmouth had their best spell soon afterwards, but were unable to break through the Brixham defence.
With the threat seen off, Brixham appeared to be coasting to victory. Three tries from the 78th minute onwards put the icing on the cake in the form of a fifth bonus point.
McRae scored under the posts, Avery got the last touch to a drive-over and from the restart Brixham handled well for Kyle Brown to dash over.

19th February 2011 SIDMOUTH 7 BRIXHAM 45
Blackmoor has not been an easy place for visiting teams this season and Sidmouth had some hopes of sinking the Fishermen - probably boosted slightly as Brixham were without stand-off Ben Lovell, who injured a hamstring during the warm-up.
Brixham played up the slope and into the wind in the first half. After a scrappy first fifteen minutes Brixham edged ahead. Driving plays by the pack took them to within feet of the try-line and sucked in most of the Sidmouth defence - creating a four man overlap on the left wing. Oblivious to, or ignoring, this the Brixham pack pressed forward for the opening try with flanker Tom Clark claiming the points. Ten minutes later, and after good work by the backs, he emerged from another forward drive with his second try.
Just before the interval Clark was again on hand to score his, and Brixham's, third try from a lineout, catch and drive. Sidmouth had threatened the Brixham line on occasions but their inability to win consistent lineout ball or retain possession let them down. A long-range penalty attempt was their only real scoring chance but went wide. In Lovell's absence Richard Champion had taken over the kicking duties but all three conversions were missed and Brixham turned around 15-0 ahead.
The hard work of the forwards in the first half was rewarded in the second which Brixham dominated from the restart. Within four minutes the lead was increased when Matt Dempsey finished off a backs move with a try in the corner. Champion secured the extras with his most difficult kick so far. Further attacking spells brought more points - two penalties for Champion's boot - and Brixham had the game won.
With Sidmouth rarely able to get into their half, Brixham were able to run the ball back at them and good handling put Tom MacLean clear for the fifth try midway through the half.
Minutes later another attacking spell culminated in the ball coming out to the right wing where hooker Dean Avery made the final pass for Tom Clark to run in for his fourth try.
With forty points on the board Brixham could afford to relax a little but the result was that Sidmouth now started to make more progress and enjoyed their best spell of the game. They scored a converted try to boost their spirits but the Brixham pack had the last word with a forward drive that gave Adam Thomas, now back from injury, the seventh, and final, try.

February 26th 2011 EXMOUTH 52 BRIXHAM 11 (DEVON CUP S/F)
The Devon Cup semi-final defeat at Exmouth leaves the Fishermen to concentrate on the task of gaining promotion - and what might be required next season if they obtain it.
Exmouth opened up an early lead with a converted try and penalty and left Brixham playing catch-up rugby. A penalty from Richard Champion got them on the scoreboard and they began to put Exmouth under some pressure. They went further behind when they lost a scrum against the head close to the Exmouth line and the home team ran the ball home. A second Champion penalty before the break gave them hope of turning the game around in the second period.
Whatever was said to the Exmouth side during the interval certainly worked. In the opening seven minutes of the second half they doubled their score, running in three unconverted tries. Brixham replied with one when a forward drive was finished by hooker Dean Avery touching down. Exmouth added three more tries, and a penalty goal, to seal the game and book their place in the final.

5th March 2011 BRIXHAM 53 ST IVES 0
Brixham had the better of the opening exchanges but struggled to break down the visitors' defence. Two penalties from Ben Lovell established a small lead. St Ives missed an opportunity to get on the board when a penalty kick rebounded from the upright - and this was as close as they were to get to scoring in the match.
With St Ives under consistent pressure a Brixham try seemed likely to come but the first real chance was lost when winger Tom Goodman spilled the ball close to the line.
Further attacking brought Brixham a penalty in front of the posts. With St Ives expecting Lovell to kick at goal Brixham took a tap and the ball went wide for lock Steve Trust to score in the corner, converted by Lovell.
Two more tries in quick succession pulled the Fishermen clear. Goodman made up for his earlier error by racing down the wing to touch down under the posts before flanker Andy Knight powered through for the third Brixham try. Lovell's conversions took the score to 27-0 with ten minutes of the first half remaining.
For the next 30 minutes of playing time the scoreboard remained inactive. St Ives enjoyed more possession and territory and though they never seriously threatened the Brixham line the homesters could perhaps have been accused of trying too hard.
With the visitors flagging in the final quarter cracks began to appear in their defence. Following a lineout and drive by the pack, centre Tom Maclean found one when the ball was released to the backs - touching down under the posts for the fourth try.
With the pressure to secure a bonus point off, Brixham continued to run the ball at St Ives. Knight scored his second try, finishing off a move wide on the left before flanker Bryan Crichton took a more direct route to the line; shrugging off tackles and using his acrobatic skills to touch down.
Full-back Matt Dempsey rounded off the try-scoring. After breaking clear in the middle he found the cover defence strangely absent and almost strolled over. Three conversions out of four for Lovell took the final score over the half-century.

12th March 2011 OLD REDCLIFFIANS 30 BRIXHAM 23
Brixham lost the top spot in the League after this defeat in Bristol but at least had the consolation of securing a bonus point and denying their hosts one.
Old Reds came off the starting blocks determined to take the game to Brixham and grabbed an early lead with a penalty goal. From the restart the Fishermen's response was immediate with Ben Lovell dropping a goal to equalise. A second penalty to Old Reds on the ten minute mark put them back in front but Brixham now began to enjoy more of the play. They took the lead when the forwards combined to power over the line for Bryan Crichton (or was it Andy Knight?) to touch down under a pile of bodies. Lovell converted. More Brixham pressure brought Brixham two attempts at penalties; Lovell slotted the second to extend the lead midway through the half.
This was the high water mark for the Fishermen in the game. A neat kick over the defence resulted in Old Reds scoring a converted try in the corner to level the scores; a stolen ball in midfield enabled them to run clear for a second under the posts and a jinking run from their scrum-half took him through for a third. Brixham got three points back through the boot of Lovell and were denied a try in the closing seconds to trail 27-16 at the break.
With the slope in their favour in the second period the Brixham pack launched a series of attacks on the homesters' line. Despite a series of penalties, and scrums, close to the line Brixham were unable to force their way over. Fifteen minutes of pressure was eventually rewarded when Crichton was first to respond to a loose pass by Old Reds to touch down after a 5metre scrum. Lovell's conversion reduced the arrears to four points and Brixham were in with a shout. Old Reds tightened their defence and often looked threatening through their backs. Brixham were unable to mount any sustained attacks on their line in the final quarter. A penalty goal for Reds extended the lead and sealed their victory.

19th March 2011 BRIXHAM 37 CAMBORNE 23
Victory over Camborne on Saturday kept Brixham in second place in the league but with the leaders, Chippenham, and chasers Old Redcliffians also winning little has changed. Brixham edged a scrappy first half; dominated for most of the second but eased up too much at the end.
Brixham established an early lead. In the fifth minute scrum-half Cory Moore profited from some missed Camborne passes; kicked ahead and won the race to touch down. Ben Lovell added the conversion. Ten minutes later and Brixham were pounding on the try line. Twice the ball was deemed to be held up over the line and centre Nick Strange was judged to have knocked on as he touched down. Eventually, from a 5 metre scrum, the ball was spun out to the wing where Tom Goodman had more success with his try. Lovell had none with the conversion.
Camborne got on the scoreboard with a try and a long-range penalty before Lovell extended the lead with a penalty in front of the posts. A penalty for the visitors with the last kick of the half reduced the Brixham lead to 15-11 at the break.
Positive, or perhaps harsh, words during the interval had the desired effect on Brixham who started the second half with a bang. Almost immediately from the kick-off a strong run by fullback Matt Dempsey opened the Camborne defence for winger Jamie Shone to touch down in the corner. Five minutes later flanker Sam Thomas was denied a place in the scorers list. The referee failed to see him ground the ball for a try but Brixham were exerting constant pressure on the Camborne line.
A quickly taken tap-penalty, the ball spun out to the left and Strange was over for Brixham's fourth try. Goodman secured the fifth (and his second) as the game entered the final quarter. Brixham began to relax and allowed the visitors back into the game. A period of pressure on the Brixham defence brought no joy and the Fishermen went further ahead when a tap-penalty in midfield went out to the right and lock Andy Knight once more displayed his finishing skills to touch down. Having missed his four previous attempts, Lovell added the conversion.
Camborne regained some pride with two tries. The first came from a Brixham error when a pass went missing as they attempted to run the ball out of defence. The second, with the last move of the match, went to the Camborne pack.

26th March 2011 BRIXHAM 23 CHIPPENHAM 23
Saturday's clash at Astley Park showed why the sides are at the top of the table. A draw for Brixham dented their promotion hopes but was a fair result on the day in front of a large crowd at Astley Park.
The Brixham strategy to come out hard and fast from the start paid off when, after sic minutes, No 8 Martin Browne peeled off the back of a scrum to dive over for the opening try. Full-back Matt Dempsey slotted the conversion. Within five minutes more Brixham pressure provided two kickable penalties; Dempsey succeeded with the second to give the Fishermen a ten point lead.
Chippenham struck back with a converted try but Brixham were committed to attacking. Midway through the half a rolling maul by the forwards took them to within five metres of the line before the ball was released to the backs and winger Jamie Shone touched down in the corner. Seven minutes later and Shone scored a similar try in the same place. Dempsey missed both conversions but Chippenham kicked two penalties to remain in the hunt. Brixham were threatening the visitors' line as the first half ended but had to settle for a 20-13 half-time lead.
Brixham continued to push forward in the second half but failed to extend their lead until a high tackle on centre Steve Worth brought a penalty. Dempsey kicked the goal to give Brixham a ten point lead.
Chippenham began to get back in the game as Brixham tired and the Fishermen were increasingly on the back foot. A penalty goal reduced their lead and the barricades needed to be fully manned in the final quarter. With the final whistle approaching Chippenham drew level. A succession of forward drives resulted in a converted try and a tense finale.
Brixham held on for the draw.

9th April 2011 WADEBRIDGE 15 BRIXHAM 7
A warm spring day and a warm welcome from the hosts greeted Brixham on their first visit to Wadebridge. They left North Cornwall with their promotion hopes ruined and a third place finish in the league.
For most of the match Brixham had the edge territorially but the attacking potency they had shown earlier in the season was missing. Pressure in the opening quarter brought nothing for the Fishermen; the Camels' defence being aided by Brixham errors. Wadebridge came more into the match and took the lead with an unconverted try in the corner and might have extended it with a penalty goal. Before the break Brixham should have at least drawn level but the referee, from a distance, spotted a forward pass to winger Tom Goodman and denied them.
The second period brought no more joy. Brixham attacked from the outset but Wadebridge ran the ball out of defence to set up an attacking position near the Brixham line. Two minutes of attacking phases and a try in the corner - converted - put them in the driving seat.
Brixham replied swiftly when winger Jamie Shone ran in a try under the posts and gave Nick Strange an easy conversion. Brixham continued to push forward but could not create, or find, any gaps in the defence. The only other score in a game Brixham will want to forget was a Wadebridge penalty - which denied Brixham even a losing bonus point.

16th April 2011 BRIXHAM 60 WALCOT 15
For the final League game of the season Brixham welcomed already-relegated Walcot to Astley Park. As a result of injuries sustained last week the Brixham side had a changed look about it but they still had too much pace and skill for the Bath side.
Flanker Dylan Flashman opened the scoring after eight minutes. The hard part of the score was the charging down of a clearance kick; the easy part picking the ball up and touching down. Centre Kyle Browne finished off a handling move involving most of the backs for the second try. He grabbed a second ten minutes later when Brixham opted to run the ball out of defence. Receiving the ball in his own half and evading tackles to burst through.
Midway though the first half and Brixham had their fourth try when a chip kick ahead bounced up kindly for winger Tom Goodman to score under the posts. Before the break two more tries followed for hooker Tom Clark and fullback Matt Dempsey. Stand-off Jamie Shone had converted four to give Brixham a 38-0 interval lead.
Within seconds of the restart the scoreline increased - Flashman touching down for his second try,
Brixham started to relax but Walcot were intent on restoring some pride and did so with a pair of tries. The Fishermen reasserted their dominance in the final quarter. No 8 Sam Thomas claimed his try after a 5 metre lineout, catch and drive. Goodman used his pace again used his pace to collect a chip ahead and touch down. Walcot had a last hurrah when their pack trundled over for a try but the last word wwnt to Brixham coach Dan Parkes. On as a replacement he scored his first try for Brixham when the forwards propelled him over the line.
