BRIXHAM RUGBY CLUB

The clubhouse has two function rooms available for hire by both club members and, increasingly, by non-members. Both rooms are on the first floor of the clubhouse with access via the stairs and by lift.
What about car parking?
There are car parks at both ends of the clubhouse so you and your guests will have no problems parking here and we also have facilities for disabled persons.
How many people can the rooms hold?
Both rooms can accommodate up to 100 people (fewer if they are seated) and have their own bars.

What about catering?
The Club does not provide catering so you will need to do, or arrange, your own. We can help you with names and phone numbers of local suppliers. If you wish to bring your own champagne or wine we do make a small charge for corkage
What about entertainment?
Again, you need to arrange this and we can help with names
What about decorations?
You are free to decorate as you like - but please do not use drawing pins or nails

How much does it cost?
For evening functions the new room is just over £100, the old room just over £75. If both rooms are booked together there is a discount. The cost includes provision of bar staff.
For daytime events, or if you do not want a bar, the prices will be lower
How do I book?
If you would like to hold your meeting, party, or function in either room the first thing to do is to ring us up and check the availability on your preferred date or come up and look at the rooms.

What else are the rooms used for?

• for Bingo
• the Club AGM and Committee meetings
• for parties, discos etc.
• for match sponsors and their guests
• some adult education classes are held here by Brixham Community College
• meetings - both formal and social - are held here by a large number of local groups including the RNA, RNLI, Weightwatchers, University of the Third Age, Women's Instirute and Soroptomists

Most weeks there is a wedding reception, christening or birthday party - often more than one!

The new function suite at the club was officially opened on Saturday 2nd November 2002, replacing the old "small lounge".
The new room was opened by Margaret Brewer on behalf of the ladies who so staunchly supported the club during the difficult period about 40 years ago. Several of them were present at the opening and in the two pictures below are, from left to right, Joyce Dalley, Mary Dallow, Phyllis Coopman, Margaret Caunter, Margaret Brewer, Wendy Richardson and Barbara McInally.
