(Under 7s)

4th April 2010 Brixham 7 Tamworth 7
Brixham faced the touring Tamworth in good pitch and weather conditions and played a well balanced game between two eager sides , both teams showed the skills they have gained in the first season of rugby including good support play, strong running and great tagging skills. Brixhams stand out players were Will Jenkins returning to the side after a few weeks out claiming five tries in the match , Lewis Green continued his recent form with another try and Jack Morris added the further score. Daniel Heard and Harry Castle showed up well in tagging and Tom Minchin and Jamie Rowe were well in support all game. A worthy draw for a well played out fixture.
Brixham 6 Tamworth 7
Another close game with the tourists just edging it at the last minute. Again it was Will Jenkins who took the lead in scoring after several good team moves to claim another five tries in this match , the further score was from Daniel Heard , good tagging was on display from all the side with all players picking up tags on the count, a well played game that just saw the young Fishermen fall short at the last.

21st March 2010 Newton Abbot 7 Brixham 6
A close encounter with Newton just edging Brixham to the victory, a close game in all areas. Great tagging skills were shown from the young Fishermen with Daniel Heard leading the way along with Jamie Rowe and the rest of the side also adding to the high tag count. Brixhams try scorers were Lewis Green with another hatrick, Heard with two tries on top of his great tagging and Jack Morris finishing off the scores. Rowe was also commended for his hard work and setting up several of the team tries.
Wellington 9 Brixham 5
Touring side Wellington were a well drilled side and proved the stronger against an unchanged Brixham who travelled without replacements. Lewis Green scored his second hatrick of the day and was high on the tag count. Rowe was soon also on the sheet adding Brixhams further two scores. The visitors proved more fluent in moves and good tagging from Heard,.Morris and a superb tally from Francesca Savage was not enough to keep the Fishermen in reach. Miles was well commended for his continued improvement and effort in all areas.

7th March 2010 Torquay 11 Brixham 6
Brixham were still on the coach to start with and were shown no mercy by a well organised Torquay side that soon pounced on the errors made and individual skills and tries paid off in the first half. Jamie Rowe and Will Jenkins tagged well and also added to the scores with Rowe collecting one and Jenkins collecting four on his return after many weeks out, Joe Butler was the other try scorer for Brixham but they never quite got the normal running rugby underway and Torquay deserved a good winning margin.
Torquay 9 Brixham 8
A much closer game with Brixham finding their flair once again. Will Jenkins again leading from the front with five tries supported well by all his team mates , further scorers were Rowe with one and Lewis Green followed by Butler with his second of the day , good team moves tried and completed by Brixham and a few that just fell short at the end proved well for the young Fishermen on the day. Will Jenkins was awarded player of the day for his skilful finishing and speed.

21st Feb 2010 Totnes 7 Brixham 5
Brixham continued to improve showing great passing skills and were only undone by some great individual skills from the Totnes side. in an even match 3 - 2 to Totnes at the break was fair, Lewis Green grabbing two and Joe Butler the other for the Fishermen. Jordan led the tagging and continued his improvement in skills gained, the second half continued in the same vain with Totnes just edging the fixture, Green added a further two for Brixham to take him to four on the day, Jamie Rowe and Daniel Heard continued the good defence and an all round good display was shown by Brixham who were missing some regular starters for today's line up.

7th Feb 2010 Brixham 6 Sidmouth 6
Brixham started strongly against a well organised Sidmouth side and it was soon tit for tat in try scoring, both teams had strengths they played to well. For the visitors it was solo scoring and spotting gaps in the defence, for Brixham it was team moves and support running. Jamie Rowe scored a hatrick with fine moves and vision and was followed by Lewis Greene, Joe Butler and Franchesca Savage. Support to the try scorers was provided in tagging from the rest of the team however predominant were Greene, Butler and Jordan to make a great all round effort for the improving young Fishermen.
Brixham 5 Sidmouth 6
All of the Brixham tries were scored by different players , yet again a good signal of strength within the side, Rowe, Jack Morris and Greene were first to strike and were followed by Harry Castle then Jordan to finish a good team effort that was not quite enough to stop the individual skills of the Sidmouth side , Greene showed up well in defence however this was an area that was lacking for Brixham against recent performances.
Player of the day was awarded for all round improvement and effort to Joe Butler.

Miles showed up well on his debut for the team and Castle showed an all round improvement today. Morris was great in all areas of play and Rowe was well commended for his support running all game. Will Jenkins was awarded player of the day for his tries and tagging skills along with team support and great running.

17th Jan 2010 Brixham 5 Devonport 7
Both teams were glad to be back on the pitch after a long layoff. A very even game took place with the visitors claiming the spoils in a stop start match. Brixham had five different try scorers, Jamie Rowe and Lewis Greene to start followed by Jack Morris, Jordan then Will Jenkins.
Although the home side lost they showed a good understanding of the laws and will benefit when they start to develop further.
Morris, Greene and Jenkins also showed up well in defence scoring many tags.Brixham are now starting to show improvements against teams who started as micro-minis a year before hey did, a sure sign of improvement.

Brixhams try scorers were Jenkins with a hatrick, Daniel Heard and Jack Morris collecting one each and Greene in for another two. Again great tagging from all and teamwork and training skills are starting to come into matches, a pleasure to the coaches.

A win away from home was well deserved for the young Fishermen braving the cold conditions and led from the front by Jamie Rowe collecting a hatrick in the match. Also on the score sheet was Jack Morris twice, his second try the full length of the pitch at speed. They were supported by tries from Daniel Heard , Lewis Greene and Francesca Savage. Harry Castle was great in defence and claimed many tags along with Greene, great improvements in teamwork were evident with many of the tries from team efforts after good support play bringing Brixham their best result of the season to date.

Brixham 4 Torquay 5
Another close game with Jenkins again scoring a hatrick and Jack Morris following up with a further score, yet again it was not quite enough as the visitors replied well and just kept in front on the day, Jenkins also excelled in tagging to claim player of the match, Morris tagged well in defence with Daniel Heard showing well on debut.

6th Dec 2009 Exeter Chiefs 6 Brixham 6
The Brixham team arrived only to be met by an understrength home side; the teams allowed the first year under 8s to play and give the visiting Brixham a game to test them after a prolonged weather break , Jamie Rowe opened the scoring for Brixham when he collected a long pass and finished well in the corner. Will Jenkins continued his scoring form with two more before Lewis Green added another before the break. All square was worthy of both sides at half time and this continued into the second half with Green adding another after great team moves and many hands , Jamie Rowe finished off the scores for Brixham in what was their best performance to date , and was unlucky not to claim the spoils as he was adjudged to be in touch with the last move of the match as he put the ball over the line. Great tagging skills were shown by Jenkins, Tom Minchin and Francessca Savage who gained the award of Player of the Day on her debut for Brixham.

1st Nov 2009 Ivybridge 7 Brixham 4
Brixham continued to show improvements from the previous weeks but found themselves up against a team with many more games under their belt. Ivybridge ran the ball well and had the edge on finishing touches. Will Jenkins starred for Brixham, running in a hatrick of tries, with solo efforts covering the full pitch on many occasions. Jack Stead was the other try scorer for Brixham with Jordan Pillar and Lewis Greene strong in defence catching many tags. Jamie Rowe and Harry Castle covered well and stopped many advances managing to turn them into possession for the Fishermen's advances. Another well presented game adding to the improvements all round.
Ivybridge 9 Brixham 5
Another hard fought performance from the Brixham basic eight players on the day, Good running and support from the home side was evident throughout, however improvements from Brixham were also on show. Yet again Jenkins scored a hattrick showing his pace and skill and he was supported well by his team in this achievement. Jack Stead and Jamie Rowe worked hard all game and were rewarded with a try apiece both covering the full length with breakaway tries. Jordan Pillar proved hard to pass all game helping towards another move in the young Fishermen's development.
A home game - at last - after five weeks on the road, is more than welcome next week.

25th Oct 2009 Sidmouth 1 Brixham 3
Brixhams training seems to be paying off as the young Fishermen recorded their first win of the season. Jamie Rowe opened the account for Brixham and Lewis Green added a further two tries; good tagging skills from Will Jenkins and Lewis Eastern were supported well by Lewis Green's efforts and Jordan Thorne and Tom Minchin ran well in support to keep Brixham's advantage to the end. The big improvement for Brixham was in the understanding of laws and without a few handling errors the boys would have pulled further away, great display Brixham.
Sidmouth 5 Brixham 5
A much tighter game with both sides trying to find their strengths, on loan Rupert scored for Brixham first followed by a hatrick from the speedy and skilful Will Jenkins to continue his high scoring form. Lewis Green finished off the account for Brixham in scoring. Defensively Harry Castle; Will Jenkins and Lewis Green were hard to pass all game. All round improvements for the youngest Fishermen who appear to be learning weekly in all aspects of the game.

18th Oct 2009 Salcombe 10 Brixham 7
Brixham U7s, on their third away game in a row, showed yet again improvements in their first season, Jamie Rowe and Jack Stead had to play the first half for the home side who were short on the day.
